CLERK
The office of the Village Clerk works hard to provide efficient, friendly public service to the residents of the Village of Bellaire, and to anyone who comes in contact with the office.
Responsibilities of the Clerk vary tremendously. The Clerk maintains all official records of the village including minutes, ordinances, and finances. Records for the Lakeview Cemetery and the sales of gravesites are also maintained by the Clerk's office.The Clerk’s office maintains records for the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Maintainance of records is followed according to a Retention and Disposal Schedule that has been approved by the State of Michigan. The Clerk's office is also responsible for publishing and posting all legal notices and for Freedom of Information Act responses.
The Clerk is the custodian of the City seal and affixes it to all documents and instruments requiring the seal. The Clerk certifies, by signature, all ordinances and resolutions enacted or passed by the Village Council. The Clerk is also empowered to administer oaths of office.

TREASURER
Every dollar paid to the Village is received and accounted for by the Village Treasurer. The Treasurer, Cathy Odom, is responsible for all deposits, investments, billing, and collection and disbursement of property taxes and personal property taxes.
Village property taxes are mailed to property owners once a year in early July and are due September 14th. After September 14th of each year all the uncollected real property taxes are turned over to the Antrim County Treasurer for collection.Taxes are calculated on the taxable value of the property. Millage rates are set by the Village Council.
